1887

Wilhelm Koreska establishes the mother company of Kores in Vienna, Austria. He opens a retail shop to sell office supplies and coated papers. Seizing an opportunity, he buys a formula for the coating of carbon paper, and the whole family starts with the manual production of carbon paper. Thus, first Kores branded hand made carbon paper is produced.

1901

Kores opens state-of-the-art factory in Wattgasse, Hernals in Vienna (Austria) for the production of an increasing range of typewriter supplies.

1912

Kores launches typewriter ribbons.

1919

The sons of the founder, Wilhelm Junior and Robert, join Kores and accelerate international expansion.

1939

Kores establishes a global presence with the factories in Shanghai, Cairo, Vienna, Berlin, Barcelona, Paris and throughout Eastern Europe.

1941

New factory in Spain, Industrias Kores Barcelona is established.

1949

New factory in Mexico, Industrias Kores de Mexico is established.

1951

Radex trademark is registered.

1958

Kores publishes magazine "Kores Illustrierte". One of the volumes features the famous Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida on the cover.

1960

Kores became iconic in Italy of the late 1950s. The facade of the palace Carminati at Piazza Duomo (the main square in front of the Duomo Cathedral in Milan) was towered with the memorable Kores logo showing female typewriter. This sign became an eblem of the "female work revolution". The movement had its boom in the 1970-1980s. The female workers were invisible for many employers of that period of time. However, it was impossible not to notice "La signora Kores" on the top of the building. Whereas other neon signs and advertisements changed and disappeared, Kores Lady stayed there until 1989.

1968

The brothers Robert and Peter Koreska establish the Kores Holding Zug AG in Switzerland, and Kores Vienna starts correction production.

1970

In the 1970s KORES used to support the car racing teams that were taking part in the prestigious automobile races "24 Hours of Le Mans". This is the world's oldest active sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France. Several French teams were driving the cars branded with Kores logo. Nowadays these cars can be seen at the "Le Mans Classic" - the vintage sports car event held on the grounds of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The cars that competed in 1970s are racing again, and they still look the same.

Kores opens offices in Caracas, Venezuela and Bogota, Colombia.

1987

Kores H.G. founded, later to become Kores GmbH, the headquarter of the whole Kores group.

1993

Kores Prague Sales office is established.

1995

The iconic Kores dactylo was portrayed on the cover poster of the Pedro Almodóvar’s movie "The Flower of my Secret".

1996

Kores Europe production in Strmilov, Czech is established.

2000

Kores expands to Romania.

2003

The patented, wheel guided dry correction tape Scooter is launched.

2005

Kores correction pen line goes in production.

2007

KORES celebrates 120 years at the Gloriette in Vienna.

2007

Kores patents its design of the 2Way correction tape.

2008

Worldwide launch of the Kolores colouring range.

2009

Glue stick production established in Czech Republic.

2010

Radex Germany becomes Kores Germany. Launch of the Ball point pen writing range, and patent of K-Pen design.

2010

Ind. Kores Mexico celebrates 60 years Anniversary.

2013

Clemens Koreska takes over the company in 4th generation.

2014

Launch of Kores Eco Glue Stick - patented glue made of 75% renewable resources. The Austrian government awarded Kores with the Austrian Ecolabel for the production of environmentally friendly glue sticks. Worldwide launch of Kores Eco Universal Glue - extra strong liquid glue made of 100% natural and eco-friendly resources.

2014

Kores is awarded prestigeous Superbrands status in Czech Republic for the first time. Superbrands is the world's largest independent arbiter of branding. The award pays tribute to the strongest and most valuable brands in the world.

2015

Start of the patented K-Marker production with new unique industrial design in Czech Republic.

2016

Kores celebrates 20 years since starting the own production in Strmilov, Czech Republic.

2017

Kores celebrates 130 years! On the occasion of the anniversary Kores organizes a memorable trip to Mexico for the Kores team and partners from Europe and Middle East. Kores Team from Colombia holds a festive ceremony and invites guests to their party in Bogota.

2018

Kores Beaver takes part at the International Marathon in Chisinau together with the Moldavian partners - company Birolux.

2019

It is for the 5th time already that Kores is awarded Superbrands title in Czech Republic, which proves once again the otstanding position of the brand in the Czech market!

2019

Ind. Kores Mexico celebrates 70 years Anniversary.
